How to Use the runSkyline Journal

The runSkyline Journal is an online training journal for Skyline Cross Country team members. In addition to helping you track your training, all team members who achieve their mileage goal using the Journal will receive a 2007 Skyline mileage t-shirt at the end of the summer! To get started, click on the “runSkyline Journal Login” link on the right sidebar. That will take you to a log in page where you should next click on the “register” link.

The registration dialog will ask for your name, email address, password, grade and mileage goal. If you have not yet set a mileage goal with Coach Porter, just enter 00. Coach Porter will contact you, help you set a goal, and make the change in the Journal. Click on submit. Once your registration has been approved you will be notified via email and you will be ready to use the Journal.

Once you have been approved to use the Journal, you will want to enter your mileage everyday. Login to the Journal and you will see a “mileage card.” Enter the date of your run, the number of miles (in decimal format) and any notes you would like Coach Porter to see. The notes should include things like the type of run or workout (tempo, splits, recovery, canyon, etc.), the total time or minutes/mile pace, and information such as how you felt, any pain or injuries you may be experiencing, etc. You can also view all of your past entries or view the team totals to see how everyone is progressing toward their own mileage goals.
