State Track Recap and Video Highlights
Congratulations to the Skyline High School Track and Field teams for a fun and successful 2007 season. At the state meet the boys team finished in 6th place, led by Steven Clark who won the state championship at 800 meters and finished 2nd at 1600 meters.
CLARK WINS BOYS 800M
The most exciting race of the day may have been Jeff Daw being beat in the 400m by a mere .004 seconds in a school record time of 48.29 seconds.

Other athletes to score points were Chase Pendley with a 6th place finish in the 200 meters and CJ Glover who finished 3rd place in the high jump and 6th place in the long jump. Skyline also finished in 4th place in the Medley Relay with a team consisting of Chase Pendley, Tyson Daw, Jeff Daw, and Steven Clark. Also participating at State were Jordan Johnson in the 110m and 300m hurdles and Aaron Argyle in the medley relay prelims.
The girls team didn’t have the depth in 2007 to place high at the state meet, but still had some memorable individual performances. Scoring points were Shalaya Kipp in the 3200 (7th place) and AmyLynn Schmidt in the 100m
hurdles (6th place).
SCHMIDT SCORES IN 100M HURDLES
Schmidt should be considered the surprise of the team after winning the region hurdles championship in her first year of track. Also competing at State was Abby Barker in the 400m, and Megan Combe and Taylor Berhow in the 800m.
